RightCampus ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data in compliance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian laws.

By using rightcampus.in (the "Platform"), you agree to the practices in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Platform.

1. Information We Collect

When you use our KCET predictors and counselling services, we collect:

• Identity & Contact: Full name, WhatsApp number, PUC/12th college name
• Academic Data: Expected KCET marks, 12th board PCM marks, KCET rank, category (GM, SC, ST, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, etc.)
• Preferences: Preferred engineering branch, merit list (General / HK Quota)
• Usage Data: Pages visited, predictor results, time spent on Platform
• Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information strictly for:

• Providing accurate KCET rank and college predictions
• Sending KCET counselling resources via WhatsApp (with your consent)
• Connecting you with our partner colleges only if you explicitly request admission counselling
• Sending exam updates, cutoff alerts, and counselling round notifications
• Improving our predictor accuracy through anonymous trend analysis
• Customer support and grievance redressal

We do NOT use your data for: Targeted ads on other platforms, selling to data brokers, sharing with anyone without your consent, or any purpose unrelated to KCET counselling.

3. WhatsApp Communications

By providing your WhatsApp number, you consent to receive KCET-related messages. We follow these strict rules:

• Maximum 4 messages per week
• No messages between 9 PM and 9 AM IST
• Reply STOP anytime to opt out instantly
• No promotional spam - only KCET counselling and updates

4. Third-Party Sharing

We DO NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing without your explicit consent.

We may share your information ONLY in these limited cases:

• Partner Colleges: Only if YOU explicitly request to be connected to a specific college. You confirm twice on WhatsApp before any data is shared.
• Service Providers: Cloud hosting (Cloudflare), database (Supabase), analytics (Google Analytics) - all bound by data processing agreements
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or regulatory request from Indian authorities
• Business Transfers: In the event of merger/acquisition, with the same privacy protections

5. Data Security

Your data is protected through:

• SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission (https://)
• Encrypted database storage (Supabase, AES-256)
• Restricted access - only authorised RightCampus team members
• Regular security audits and monitoring
• DPDP Act 2023 compliant data handling practices

We commit to notify you within 72 hours of any data breach affecting your information.

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

• Remembering your form progress (so you don't lose data)
• Anonymous Google Analytics tracking (page views, traffic sources)
• Microsoft Clarity for UX improvements (session recordings, anonymised)
• Session storage to avoid showing the same popup repeatedly

7. Your Rights (Under DPDP Act 2023)

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
• Erasure: Request deletion of your data (we delete within 30 days)
• Withdraw Consent: Stop WhatsApp messages anytime by replying STOP
• Data Portability: Receive your data in a downloadable format
• Grievance Redressal: File complaints with our Grievance Officer or the Data Protection Board of India

To exercise any of these rights, email info.rightcampus@gmail.com with the subject "Data Rights Request". We'll respond within 7 working days.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary:

• Active users: Retained while you actively use our services
• Inactive users: Deleted after 24 months of inactivity
• Opted-out users: Deleted within 30 days of opt-out request
• Legal records: Some data may be retained as required by Indian tax/regulatory law

9. Children's Privacy

Our Platform is intended for students aged 16+ (KCET aspirants). If you are under 18, please use our services under parental/guardian supervision. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected such data, contact us immediately at info.rightcampus@gmail.com for prompt deletion.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be communicated via email/WhatsApp to active users. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
